
Mrs. Vickie Dianne Marlin Yowell, 52, of Thompson’s Station, formerly of Lynnville, died March 8, 2010.
She was a member of Old Hope Church of Christ and a former employee of Baird-Ward Printing Co.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home with Dove Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Williamson Memorial Gardens.
Visitation was to have been today (Tuesday) and anytime on Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, W. Kenny Yowell; son Daniel K. Mr. M.L. (Mug) Jenkins Jr., 87, of Pulaski died March 8, 2010, at his residence.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Second Street Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marlon Lambert Sr. and Mamie Pierce Jenkins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 10, in the chapel of Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home with Roger Reedy and Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Mrs. Katherleen White Marks, 82, of Pulaski died March 1, 2010, at Hillside Hospital.
She was a former insurance representative with North Carolina Mutual Life Insurance Company and a member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Horace Marks.
Funeral services were held March 6 at the Greater Richland Creek Missionary Baptist Association’s Central Building, Bledsoe Road, Pulaski, with the Rev. Winford Smith officiating. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery.

Mr. Joe Douglas Smartt, 87, of Pulaski died March 7, 2010, at National Health Care in Lawrenceburg.
He was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Lincoln County and was retired as a bus driver for the Giles County School System.
He was retired from the U.S. Army, serving during World War II and the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Minnie Mullins Smartt; and his wife, Ruby Smartt.
Funeral services were to have been held today (Tuesday) at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home. Burial was to have been in Giles Memory Garden.

Mr. Charles Fralix, 81, of Pulaski died March 6, 2010, at Hillside Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Clay and Onie Elizabeth Fralix; brothers, Massey Fralix, Ed Fralix and Gardner Fralix; and sisters, Shirley Harwell, Zora Wilburn and Martha Jane

Mrs. Mattie Louise Nix, 76, of Lewisburg died March 6, 2010, at her residence.
The Giles County native was retired from Marshall Manufacturing Co., and was of the Baptist faith.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Louella Mae Roberts Dunnivant; four brothers, Robert Dunnivant, John Dunnivant, G.H. Dunnivant and J.B. Dunnivant; and three sisters, Virginia Watkins, Polly Edwards and Christine Edwards.

Mrs. Clara Eunice Coffman, 95, of Pulaski died March 4, 2010, at NHC HealthCare of Pulaski.
Born Oct. 1, 1914, in Taft, she was a lifelong resident of the Ardmore area and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Coffman is preceded in death by her parents, William Franklin and Mary Poole Franklin; her husband, James Wesley Coffman, five brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral services were held March 7 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Ray Stonecypher, the Rev. Lynn Marshall and Monty Franklin officiating. Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore, Ala.

Mrs. Joyce Crabtree Morris, 72, of Nashville died March 4, 2010.

Mr. Joe C. Abernathy, 81, of Fayetteville died March 3, 2010, at Lincoln Medical Center in that city.
The Giles County native was a veteran of the US Air Force and a Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper from 1950-64. For the city of Fayettevile, Mr. Abernathy was retired as superintendant of public works and served on the city’s School Board and Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence (Pat) and Elsie Childers Abernathy Jr.; son Robert Finley Abernathy; and sister Mary Beth Phillips.
A funeral mass was held March 6 at St. Anthony Catholic Church officiated by Father Jose. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Church Building Fund or the Fayetteville Lincoln County Humane Society.

Locally, Mr. Abernathy is survived by nephews Bobby Phillips and Patrick Phillips, both of Pulaski. Other survivors include his wife of 56 years, Betty Finley Abernathy of Fayetteville; daughter Elsie Ann Abernathy West and husband Larry of Fayetteville; granddaughter Courtney West Schmidt of Goodlettsville; great-grandchildren David Evan Schmidt and Aubrey Faith Schmidt; brother Clarence Wayne Abernathy and wife Susie of Brentwood; and two nieces.

Mr. Rufus Amuel Pitts, 90, of Pulaski died March 2, 2010, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and was employed in sales at Morris Harwell & Son for many years with his wife.
Mr. Pitts was a veteran of United State Army, serving for four and-a-half years in the South Pacific during World War II.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Chaney and Dicie Oden Pitts.
Graveside services were held March 5 at Maplewood Cemetery with Jon Haskew officiating.
Memorial donations are suggested to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
